Most projects end with delivery. The files are approved, production is completed, and the finished piece reaches its destination. The process moves on, and attention turns to the next project.
Every now and then, however, something happens that stays with you.
Recently, whilst preparing a project for BNP Group, a member of the Dayfold team spotted an issue within the supplied artwork before it reached production. It was a small detail, but one that could easily have caused problems further down the line had it gone unnoticed.
The issue was highlighted, the artwork was corrected, and the project continued as planned.
A few days later, we received the message below from Branca at BNP Group.
Rather than paraphrase it, we felt it was best to share it exactly as it was written.
Hi Andy,
I just wanted to say a massive thank you for spotting the error on the artwork yesterday and taking the time to flag it. I’ve worked with printers for more than 20 years, and I know from experience that not everyone would do that. It would have been very easy to just run the job as supplied and leave it at that.
The truth is, only a handful of people in this industry would take the time to look properly, notice something and then actually say something about it. A lot of people might see it and think, “not my problem”, but you didn’t. That genuinely saved me a lot of trouble.
I know some people might say that’s just part of the service, but in my experience, it’s actually something quite rare. It takes someone who really cares about the work and about the people they’re working with. And those are the people who make a company special.
So I just wanted to say a proper thank you. I like to make a point of recognising things like this when they happen, because it does matter and it certainly didn’t go unnoticed.
It’s very much appreciated.
All the best,
Branca, BNP Group
What resonated with us wasn’t simply the appreciation, but the observation behind it.
In a world increasingly driven by automation, efficiency and speed, it’s easy to assume that quality is defined by technology alone. Yet some of the most valuable contributions still come from experience, judgement, and taking the time to look a little more closely.
Most clients will never see those moments because they happen quietly in the background. That attention to detail means problems are solved before they become visible. Questions are asked before mistakes become costly. Projects arrive exactly as intended.
For us, that’s simply part of looking after the work.
We’re incredibly grateful to Branca for taking the time to write such a thoughtful message and for allowing us to share it.
Sometimes a simple thank you says more than any portfolio piece ever could.
