Designed for Recognition Creative, this duplexed business card uses contrast in colour, texture and finish to create something that feels distinctive without becoming overworked.
The construction is deliberately simple but highly considered.
Two Colorplan stocks are bonded together to create a substantial 540gsm card, giving the piece an immediate sense of weight and rigidity in the hand. The front uses GF Smith Colorplan Racing Green, creating a darker, more grounded surface that allows the foil detailing to stand out cleanly against the muted stock.
Rather than relying on printed graphics, the identity is carried almost entirely through foil.
A holographic foil is applied directly to the front mark, introducing movement and colour shift as light passes across the surface. The effect changes constantly depending on viewing angle, bringing energy and depth to what is otherwise an intentionally restrained composition.
The reverse side moves into a cleaner, more functional layout.
GF Smith Colorplan Cool Grey creates contrast against the darker front, giving the typography greater clarity and legibility while maintaining the same tactile quality throughout the piece. The shift between the two stocks gives the card a dual personality, expressive on one side, precise and practical on the other.
Nothing here feels excessive.
The materials, foil and duplexed construction do the work naturally, proving that subtle decisions often create the strongest impression.
