The base stock does most of the heavy lifting.
GF Smith Gmund Action Vibrant Arsenic isn’t a background material, it is the statement. That near fluorescent tone creates immediate impact before anything else is read or understood. It’s the kind of colour that forces attention, which fits the brand perfectly.
The external print is intentionally minimal.
Black ink is used for the typography, keeping contrast high and legibility sharp against the vibrant stock. The “Heavy Metal” logo is pushed further with a heavy deboss and foil, giving it real physical presence. It’s not just seen, it’s felt, which adds weight to an otherwise playful piece.
The structure adds another layer of interaction.
Four circular die cut apertures run across the carton, revealing the product lids inside. It’s a simple idea, but it does two important things. It breaks up the solid colour and it gives a preview of what’s inside without fully revealing it. That balance between reveal and conceal is doing a lot of work here.
Inside, it shifts again.
The internal print is completely different in tone, featuring a bold, abstract Culture Hustle pattern in green. It’s chaotic compared to the clean outer, but that contrast feels intentional. You go from controlled exterior to expressive interior, which mirrors the brand’s personality.
What’s interesting is how this avoids feeling cheap.
Bright stock, bold colour, die cuts, internal print, it could easily tip into novelty. But the restraint on the outside, combined with the physicality of the debossed foil, keeps it grounded.
